What We Do
Ensure Constitutional Rights: Protecting the voting rights of eligible citizens, regardless of incarceration status.
Promote Civic Engagement: Encouraging participation in democracy among often-marginalized populations.
Create an Informed Electorate: Providing voter education through the Texas Justice-Involved Voter Guide.
Amplify Community Impact: Empowering inmates to have a voice in policies that affect their communities.
#ProjectOrange is a pioneering jail-based voting initiative in Texas, focusing on registering eligible voters in the Harris County Jail. Launched in 2017 by Durrel Douglas, founder of Houston Justice, it has successfully registered over 5,000 voters behind bars.
